Regenerative Medicine
Regenerative medicine is an advanced treatment that focuses on the usage of one’s own tissue to help heal and restore one’s damaged tissue. Simply put, as a treatment it promotes the repair response of diseased, damaged, or injured tissue using stem cells or their derivatives.
Three Options for Regenerative Medicine Treatments
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC), and Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (A2M) are three commonly used treatments in regenerative medicine. While PRP and A2M are derived from the patients blood, BMAC is derived from the patients bone marrow. Though all three are derived from the patients own body, the primary difference is BMAC is used for more complex joint and bone pain.
At Pain Treatment Institute, we offer PRP, A2M, and BMAC for patients that can benefit from regenerative treatments. Our pain management doctors can help determine which option is best for you.
