Pain management physician, Sameer Syed, MD, MPH, is double board-certified in pain management and anesthesiology. He specializes in treating back and shoulder pain, head and neck pain, knee pain, neuropathy, sciatica, fibromyalgia, and much more at Pain Treatment Institute in Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Rockwall, and Sherman, Texas.
As a top Pain and Regenerative Medicine Specialist, Dr. Syed’s goal is to get you back to doing the activities you love in the least amount of time possible! Dr. Syed uses a multimodal approach to treat pain, including fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided injections, regenerative therapy, physical therapy, medication management, psychological counseling, and neuraxial manipulations. Although Dr. Syed prescribes various kinds of medications, including opiates, he tailors his treatment plans to each patient specifically and is passionate about reducing the number of addictive medications in the community.

Education and Training
Dr. Syed earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and completed a medical degree and a master’s degree in public health at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He went on to finish his residency in anesthesiology at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans and a fellowship in interventional pain management at Solar Health System.
Dr. Syed maintains his advanced credentials to stay up to date with the latest advances in pain management. He’s board-certified with the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Management. Dr. Syed is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pain Management, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and many others.
He’s fluent in Hindi, Urdu, and English and can converse in Spanish and Arabic. Dr. Syed and his experienced pain management team at the Pain Treatment Institute are excited to welcome patients to the practice.
